And now the prisoner being in
open Court for sentence was demanded if he had
any thing to say why sentence should not be passed
upon him saith nothing Whereupon the Court sen-
tenced the prisoner to Confinement in the States
Prison at hard labor for the space of Two (2) years -

And now this Cause came on to
be heard W.H. Wigg State atty prosecuting in
the name and by the authority of the State of
Florida and the prisoner appearing in open Court
in his own proper person as well as by F.E. Hughes
Esq his atty and the prisoner being demanded if
how he would acquit himself of the charge
against him saith that he is not guilty as
the Indictment alleges against him and for good
and evil he puts himself upon God and the
Country for trial Whereupon a Jury was called and
there came W.S. Land, W.B. Patterson, Leroy N. Pearce
Frank X. Miller M.A. Dinsler T.M. Cauthen who
were duly Sworn and empanelled to well and truly
try the Difference pending and thereafter after
hearing the evidence the argument of Counsel
and the Charge of the Court retired to Consider
of their verdict and thereafter on the same day
returned into open Court and rendered the
following Verdict to wit; We the Jury find the
Defendant Guilty so say we all
