The Court met this day pursuant to adjournment
of yesterday His Honor J.J. Finley Judge presiding
State of Florida } Wigg & Arnow
vs } Murder
Samuel W. Polk } Taylor & Carter
} And now the States attorney William
H. Wigg and the prisoner being in open Court as also
by his attys Taylor & Carter and likewise the Jury who
had been duly Sworn on yesterday to wit Charles L.
Slaughter Samuel Fewell, P.B.H. Dudley J.B. Coker Thos
Fisher J.A. Tucker S. Shiretzki J.I.P. Johns J.M.
Guinn W.J. Knight, J.M. Slater and Ferd Bayer being
now in open Court the hearing of this Cause was
resumed and thereafter after hearing a part of
the evidence
Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow morning -
at nine oclock

his own proper person as well as by his attys Taylor & Carter
and likewise the Jury who had been duly Sworn and
empanelled herein on the 20th instant to wit Charles
L. Slaughter Samuel Fewell P.B.H. Dudley, J.B. Coker
Thos Fisher, J.A. Tucker S. Shiretzki J.I.P. Johns
J.M. Guinn, W.J. Knight, J.M. Slater and Ferd Bayer
being now in open Court the hearing of this cause is
resumed and thereafter after hearing the balance
of the evidence the argument of Counsel and the
Charge of the Court retired to consider of their
Verdict and thereafter on the same day returned into
open Court and rendered the following verdict to
wit: Gainesville Fla Dec 22/87
We the Jury find the Defendant "Not Guilty"
