vs } Murder
Peter Jackson & } J.E. Lambeth & C.O. Hampton - for
Hart Johnson } {Peter Jackson
} And now on this day this Cause
came on to be heard William H. Wigg State attorney
prosecuting in the name and by the authority of
the State of Florida and the prisoners appearing in
open Court in his own proper person as well as by
J.E. Lambeth and C.O Hampton his attorneys and now
on the motion of the Defendants attorneys a Sever-
ance was granted - And now the Prisoner Peter
Jackson being in open Court in his own proper
person as well as by his attorneys J.E. Lambeth
and C.O. Hampton and now the Prisoner Peter Jackson
being brought to the bar here under the Custody of
Samuel H. Wienges Sheriff of Alachua County to which
Sheriff he is also likewise committed and being
forthwith demanded how he would acquit himself
of the Charge against him Saith that he is not
guilty as the Indictment alleges against him and
for Good and evil he puts himself upon God
and the Country for trial, Whereupon a Jury was
called and there came M.I. Jones Daniel
Vaughn J.J. Burton and now the regular
Venire being exhausted
Whereupon it is ordered that the Clerk of this
Court do issue a Venire Facias directed to the
Sheriff of Alachua County Commanding him
to Summon Fifty good and lawful men from
the County at Large returnable at half past
three oclock of this day
Whereupon
A.J. Collins was duly Sworn
as Bailiff for the Jury in the Case
of the State of Florida vs Peter Jackson
And now the Bailiff took charge of the
Jurors who had been accepted in the
the Case of the State of Florida vs Peter Jackson
the Jurors having been first charged by the
Court ---
