James Brown } and now this Cause is Continued
State of Florida } Wigg King & King
# 35 vs } Murder
Turner Gray } S.Y. Finley & J.C. Gardner
And now on this day this
Cause came on to be heard William H. Wigg
State attorney prosecuting in the name and by
the authority of the State of Florida and the prisoner
Turner Gray appearing in open Court in his own
proper person as well as by his attorneys S.Y. Finley
& J.C. Gardner and now the prisoner who had been
arraigned on the 5th day of July being now brought
to the bar here under the Custody of Samuel H.
Wienges Sheriff of Alachua County to which Sheriff
he is also likewise Committed and now a Jury
was called and there came, 1 Samuel Mixson - 2
F.D. Vaughn, S.T. Kirtland -
And now the regular Venire being exhausted
Whereupon the Court issued the following order to wit
It appearing to the Court that there is a necessity
(by reason of Challenge and otherwise the panel
for the summoning of additional Jurors - It is ordered
that the Clerk do issue a Special Venire directed
to the Sheriff of Alachua ^County^ Commanding ^him^
to Summon one hundred good and lawful men
from the County at Large to appear before the Court
to Serve as Petit Jurors returnable to nine oclock
tomorrow morning -
done in open Court July 9th 1888 J.J. Finley Judge
Whereupon the Clerk now issued the Venire Facias
by the Court directed

Tennison Hook } and now this Cause is Continued
and the defendants bond was fixed by the Court
at the Sum of Eight hundred dollars which
bond Shall be approved of by the Clerk of this
Court -
