Spring Term A.D. 1889
      Friday May 17th 1889 -
Whereupon
      The Court issued the following order to wit
In Circuit Court 5th Judicial Circuit of
Florida Alachua County - Spring Term 1889
It appearing to the Court that there is a necessity for
a Pettit Jury for the Third Week of this term, It is
ordered that the County Judge or in his absence
a Justice of the Peace the Sheriff and the Clerk of
the Circuit Court of Alachua County as forthwith
draw from the box containing the names of the Three
hundred selected Jurors Eighteen 918) names to serve
as Pettit Jurors for the third week of this term
and that a Venire Facias be issued out of this
Court to the Sheriff of the County Commanding him
to summon the said Eighteen persons so drawn to
appear before the Court on Monday May 20th 1889 -
at the hour of Ten oclock of the forenoon of said
day to serve as pettit Jurors for the 3rd week of
this term - Done in open Court May 17th 1889

Whereupon now Comes J.C. Gardner County Judge S.H.
Wienges Sheriff and J.A. Carlisle Clerk of the Circuit
Court and drew from the Box Containing the
names of the Three hundred selected Jurors as by
the order of the Court required -
Also Comes J.A. Carlisle Clerk of the Circuit Court
and now issues the Special Venire for the
Pettit Jury for the 3rd week of this term -

State of Florida  }  Wigg Ashley & Carter
        vs        }          Murder
Peter Jackson and }  Lambeth and Hampton
Hart Johnson      }
                  }  And now this Cause came
on to be heard William H. Wigg State attorney
prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner Peter
Jackson (who had been heretofore arraigned
herein on the 6th day of July A.D. 1888) being in
open Court in his own proper person as well
as by his attorneys J.E. Lambeth and W.W. Hampton
as also the three Jurors who had been selected
on yesterday to wit J.H. Avera Jr. J.H. Stokes and
W.D. Bailey the hearing of this Cause was resumed
