} and now the prisoner
being in open Court for sentence was
demanded if he had any thing to say why
sentence should not be passed upon him
saith nothing Whereupon the Court sentenced
the prisoner to confinement in the County Jail
at hard labor for the term of six months =
Whereupon
The Court issued the following order to wit
It appearing to the Court that there is a
necessity for a Pettit Jury for the 4th week of
this the Spring Term A.D. 1889. It is therefore
ordered that the County Judge or in his absence
a Justice of the Peace the Sheriff and the
Clerk of the Circuit Court of Alachua County
do forthwith draw from the box Containing the
names of the Three Hundred Selected Jurors
Eighteen (18) persons to serve as Pettit Jurors for the
4th week of this term and that the Clerk of this
Court do issue a Venire Facias to the Sheriff of
Alachua County Commanding him to Summon the
said Eighteen persons so drawn to be and appear
before the Judge of our Circuit Court at the Court
House in the City of Gainesville on Monday the 27th
day of May A.D. 1889 at the hour of ten oclock
of the forenoon of said day to Serve as Pettit
Jurors for the 4th week of this term

in open Court drew from the box containing the
names of the Three hundred selected Jurors Eighteen
