      Spring Term AD 1889
          Friday May 31st 1889

      The Court met this day pusuant to adjournt of
      yesterday His Honor J.J. Finley Judge presiding

      State of Florida        }  Wigg & Carter
#40          vs               }  Breaking and entering a building
      William Canty           }  in the night time with intent
      Anderson Williams       }  to commit a Felony
      Henry Haile             }  Cone Finley & Fildes
                                And now this Cause came
      on to be heard William H. Wigg State attorny pros-
      ecuting in the name and by the authority of the
      State of Florida and the prisoners William Canty
      Anderson Williams and Henry Haile who had
      been arraigned heretofore herein being in open
      Court in their own proper persons as well as
      by their attorneys a Jury was called and there
      came J.T. Mizell F.X. Miller W.D. Wells A.J.
      Shuford A.H. Emmerson W.C. Plyley - who were
      duly Sworn to well and truly try the deffence
      pending according to the evidence - and thereafter
      after hearing a part of the evidence and now
      Comes William H. Wigg State Attorny and
      enters herein a Nolli Prosequi as to Anderson
      Williams - and the Jury aforesaid after
      heaing the balance of the evidence and the
      argument of Counsel and the Charge of the
      Court retired to Consider of their verdict
      and thereafter on the same day returnd into
      open Court and rendered the following
      verdict to wit: We the Jury find the defen-
      dants William Canty and Henry Haile guilty
      of felony as charged in the Indictment

              vs           }  Sentence
      Henry Haile          }
                             And now the prisoner
      being in open Court for sentence was demanded
      if he had any thing to say why sentence should
      not be passed upon him saith nothing
      Whereupon the Court sentenced the prisoner
      to confinement in the States Prison at hard
