And now this Cause came on to
be further heard William H. Wigg State attorney
prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner who
had been arraigned herein on the 14th instant
being in open Court in his proper person a
Jury was called and there came J.G. Rawls
D.H. Merchant, A.J. Palmer, E.K. Roberts T.E. Jones
Louis Kinsey who were duly Sworn and em-
paneled to well and truly try the difference pen-
ding between the State of Florida and the pris-
oner at the Bar according to the evidence and
thereafter after hearing the evidence the
argument of Counsel and the Charge of the
Court retired to consider of their verdict
and thereafter on the same day returned into
open Court and rendered the following Verdict
to wit: We the Jurors find the Prisoner guilty
So say we all January 15 1890 D.H. Merchant

And now the prisoner being in
open Court for sentence was demanded
if he had any thing to Say why sentence
should not be passed upon him saith nothing
Whereupon the Court sentenced the prisoner to
confinement in the States Prison at hard
labor for the term of Two (2) Years -
Whereupon the Grand Jury Came into
open Court and rendered the following
Indictment of the
State of Florida }
vs } Breaking and entering a building in
Willis Brinson } daytime with intent to commit
a misdemeanor
