Monday December 5th 1881
Clark not having been arrested. And now the
prisoner Daniel Lee being brought to the Bar here under
the Custody of John W. Turner Sheriff of Alachua
County to which Sheriff he is also committed and
now being forthwith demanded how he would acquit
himself of the Charge against him saith that he is
not guilty as the Indictment alleges against
him and for good and evil he puts himself upon
God and the Country for trial whereupon a Jury was
Called and there came A.J. DaCosta, Daniel Mott
W.C. Matheson, Jim Holder, B.F. Millard and
J.B. Brooks, who were duly Sworn and empanelled to
well and truly try the difference pending between the
State of Florida and the prisoner at the Bar, and
thereafter after hearing the evidence the argument of
Counsel and the charge of the Court retired to con-
sider of their verdict and thereafter on the same
day returned into open Court and rendered the fol-
lowing verdict to wit: We the Jury find the prisoner
Guilty A.J. DaCosta Foreman Dec 5th 1881
Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow
morning at Ten Oclock

Tuesday December 6th 1881
Whereupon the Court ordered all Civil cases ad-
journed and the witnesses therein discharged
until Monday December 12th 1881
