And now this Cause came
on to be heard William H. Wigg State attorney pros-
ecuting in the name and by the authority of the
State of Florida and the prisoner Barton Albert
Thrasher being in open Court for the purpose of
arraignment in his proper person as well as by his
attorneys Jno W. Ashby R.W. Davis & Taylor & Carter - and
now the prisoner being brought to the Bar here under the
Custody of Samuel H. Wienges Sheriff of Alachua County
to which Sheriff he is also likewise Committed and
being forthwith demanded how he would acquit him-
self of the Charge against him saith that he is
not guilty as the Indictment alleges against him
and for good and evil he puts himself upon God
and the Country for trial

and affidavit of the Defendant this Cause is
Continued until the next term of this Court -

And now on this day this
Cause came on to be further heard William H.
Wigg State attorney prosecuting in the name
and by the authority of the State of Florida
and the prisoner appearing in open Court in his
proper person as well as by his attorneys S.L.
Carter and E.C.F. Sanchez as also likewise the
Jury who had been duly Sworn and empanelled
herein to wit 1 C.L. Minter, 2 A.J. Bates 3 C.C. Townsend
4 W.N. Tillman 5 S.D. Tillman 6. John Holly 7
John Chesnut 9 Geo B. Evans 10 Geo B. Cellon 11
W.E. Johnson 12 R.H. Hall the hearing of this Cause
was resumed and the Jury aforesaid after
hearing the balance of the argument and
the Charge of the Court retired to Consider of
their verdict and thereafter on the Same
day returned into open Court and rendered |
