Fall Term A.D. 1881
         Tuesday December 6th 1881
McCall And now the prisoner being brought to the Bar here
under the Custody of John W. Turner Sheriff of Alachua
County to which Sheriff he is also likewise committed and
being forthwith demanded how he would acquit himself
of the Charge aagainst him saith that he is not Guilty as
the Indictment alleges against him and for good and
evil he puts himself upon God and the Country for Trial
Whereupon a Jury was called and there came
A.J. DaCosta, W.C. Matheson, J.I. Griffin, H.C. Carver
David Mott, J.W. Thompkies, B.P. Boulware, C.E. Howell
Daniel Chesser, J.M. Gates, T.W. Downing, L.W. Jackson
who were duly sworn and empanelled to well and
truly try the difference pending between the State of
Florida and the prisoner at the Bar and thereafter
after hearing the evidence and the argument of
Counsel retired to consider of their verdict

        vs       }  Assault with intent to Murder
R.L. Cathcart    }
                   And now this Cause is Continued and
the witnesses ordered to be discharged until the next
term of this Court

Whereupon the Court discharged all the witnesses
in the Civil cases on the Docket until Monday
December 12th,
Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow
morning at nine oclock
