And now on this day this cause
came on to be further heard and William H. Wigg State
attorney prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner Dave Lewis
being in open Court in his proper person as well as
by his attorney Chas L. Fildes and also like wise the
Jurors who had been selected herein on the 6th instant
to wit T.E. Horn, N.W. Horn, H.L. Hilliard S.J. Collins being
in open Court and now the Juror N.W. Horn being sick
by Consent of both the State and the Defendant by his
attorney the said Juror N.W. Horn was set aside - and
there comes as Jurors in said Cause T.E. Horn H.L.
Hilliard S.J Collins Henry Thomas John Edwards
John Simmons Charney Thomas Daniel Mott
James Slater Daniel Chesser F.W. Carroway W.S.
Jackson who were duly Sworn and empanelled to well and
truly try and true deliverance make between the State of
Florida and the prisoner at the bar according to the evidence
Whereupon the Court issued the following order
to wit:
it appearing to the Court that is
is necessary for a Petit Jury for the 8th week
of this term it is ordered that the County
Judge and the Sheriff and the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Alachua County do forthwith
and in open Court draw from the Box Con-
taining the list of three hundred the names of
Eighteen (18) persons to Serve as Petit Jurors for the
8th Week of this term and also that the Clerk
of this Court do issue a Venire to the Sheriff
of the County Commanding him to Summon the
Said Eighteen persons so drawn said Venire to be
made returnable to Wednesday the 12th day of
Feby at Ten Oclock A.M.
