Spring Term A.D. 1890
Tuesday May 13th 1890
on to be heard upon an assessment of damages a
default Judgment having been duly rendered herein
and now a Jury was called and there came
B.W. Waits W.L. Bennett, M.G. Scott J.O. Tison
W.H. Jones H.C. Crawford who were duly Sworn
and empanelled to well and truly assess the
damages according to the evidence and thereafter
after hearing the evidence the argument of Counsel
and the Charge of the Court retired to consider
of their verdict and thereafter on the Same day
returned into open Court and rendered the
following Verdict to wit: We the Jurors find
damages in favor of Plaintiff at $500 per day
for 40 days $20000 B.W. Waits
Foreman -
Whereupon it is ordered Considered and ad-
judged by the Court that the Plaintiff do
have and recover of and from the Defendant
the sum of Two Hundred dollars for his
damages together with his Costs in this behalf
expended taxed at Fourteen 05/100 Dollars -

} And now on this day this
Cause came on to be heard William H. Wigg
State attorney prosecuting in the name and
by the authority of the State of Florida and
the Defendant appearing in his own proper
person as and being demanded how he would
acquit himself of the Charge against him
Saith that he is guilty as the Indictment
alleges against him

Thomas Turner } and now the prisoner being in
open Court for Sentence was demanded if
he had any thing to say why sentence should not
be passed upon him saith nothing Whereupon the
Courts sentenced the prisoner to pay a Fine of
Five dollars together with the Costs of
this prosecution -
