and the flush of its successes; but solaced by the tender
ministrations of those allied to him by the tenderest ties
united with the sympathetic care of tried friends and supported
by a sublime Courage and a sublime faith, the bore him-
self with the fortitude of true manhood when the last
Summons came, with assuring hope that all would be
well he stepped into the near but unseen world. His life
is worthy of imitation by junior members of the profession
and his death admonishes all to be also ready to resign
the duties and honors of life without regret for the past
and without alarm for the future.

Resolved
That in the death of Edwin Marcy Hampton
after painful Suffering protracted through Several
years and before reaching the meridian of a life
which gave high promise of attaining eminence in
the Profession of the Law and positions of usefulness
in the State, we Sorrow for the loss of one of our members
whom we admired for his intellectual powers and loved
for his personal virtues and whose early Successes
now honor no less for our profession than for him-
self
Resolved that deeply and sincerely feeling the
personal professional and public loss which we and
the Community have sustained we tender this ex-
pression of our Sorrow at the early death of our de-
parted brother as a token of sympathy with the be-
reaved members of his family.
Resolved
That on a page of the Minutes of the Circuit Court
of Alachua County be spread these proceedings
of the Bar of this Court and that the City press be
requested to publish the Same and that a Copy
of the same be furnished to the Members of his
