Monday February 2nd 1891 -
plaintiff and defendant being in open Court by their
respective attorneys and now the issues being joined a
Jury was called and there came Joe Desha
C.C. Martin H.J. Bailey L.J. Burkhim J.W. Exley
Chas M. Dell - who were duly Sworn and empanelled
to well and truly try the issues joined according to the
evidence and the Jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence
the argument of Counsel and the Charge of the Court
retired to consider of their verdict returned into
open Court and rendered the following
Verdict to wit We the Jury find for the
Plaintiff a Verdict for the sum of Sixteen
hundred and sixty one Dollars and 50/100
with interest from July 5th 1886 to date
Total $2,261 50/100 L.J. Burkhim
Foreman -
Whereupon it is Considered ordered and
adjudged by the Court that the Plaintiff
do have and recover of and from the
Defendant the Sum of Two Thousand
Two hundred and Sixty one 50/100 Dollars
for his damages together with his Costs
in this behalf expended taxed at
Ten Dollars and
sixteen Cents and the Defendant
in mercy &c

And now the prisoner being
in open Court for sentence was demanded
what he had to say why sentence should not
be passed upon him Saith nothing whereupon the
Court sentenced the prisoner - to imprison-
