State of Florida and the prisoner being in open
Court in his proper person as well as by Chas L.
Fildes his attorney was demanded how he would
acquit himself of the charge against him saith
that he is not guilty as the Indictment alleges
against him and for good and evil he puts him-
elf upon God and the County for trial.

James Rhodes } and now this Cause is transferred to the
absentee Docket and Continued

William Niblack } and now this Cause is Continued and this
cause is transferred to the absentee
Docket.

Dick Bell } and now this Cause is transferred to the
} absentee Docket.

#30 vs } Breaking and entering a building in the
Jim Adams } night time with intent to commit a
} Felony. Ashby
And now this Cause came on
to be heard and William H. Wigg State Attorney pros-
ecuting in the name and by the authority of the
State of Florida another prisoner appearing in open
Court in his proper person as well as by his attorney J.W.
Ashby and now the prisoner being demanded how he would
acquit himself of the Charge against him saith that
he is not guilty and for good and evil he puts himself
upon God and the Country for trial whereupon a Jury
was called and then Came, B.F. Hampton Tobias
Brown Vandi H. Ellis E.D. Hodges C.C. Martin and
H.J. Bailey who were duly sworn and empanelled to
well and truly try the defense pending according to the
evidence, and the Jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence
and the charge of the Court retired to consider of their
verdict and thereafter on the same day returned into open
Court and rendered the following verdict to wit.
We the Jury find the defendant Guilty.
