and the parties plaintiff and defendant being in open Court by
their respective attorneys. And now by consent the pleas of defendant
heretofore filed in this cause was withdrawn and default entered
for want of plea Thereupon a jury was called and there came
G.R. Crump, M.M. May A.V. Ellis J.T. Woods D.J. Richbourg and
M.M. Tillman who were duly empanelled and sworn to diligently
inquire of damages in this cause and a true assessment make
according to the evidence And the Jury aforesaid after
hearing the evidence and the charge of the Court, without leaving
the box rendered the following verdict to wit:
  We the Jury find for the plaintiff and assess
their damages at Twenty five hundred dollars: so say we
all.                   M.M. Tillman.

Whereupon it is considered ordered and adjudged be the
Court that the plaintiff Aaron Stern, Henry Lauer Charles Shohl
and Samuel Aul, partners doing business under the firm name and
style of Stern Lauer Shohl & Co do have and recover of and from
the said defendant Joseph Manassee the sum of Twenty five
hundred for their damages together with their costs in this
behalf expended taxed at Ten & 28/100 Dollars and the defendant
in mercy &c
