do have and recover of and from the said defendant C.B. Easterlin
the sum of Twelve hundred and fifty four 38/100 Dollars for
their damages together with their costs in this behalf expended
taxed at Thirty seven 81/100 Dollars ans the defendant in mercy &c

And now this cause coming on to be heard
and the parties plaintiff and defendant being in open Court
by their respective attorneys and the plea of defendant hereto=
fore filed in this cause being withdrawn a default was
entered for want of plea
Thereupon a jury was called to assess the damages
and there came G.R. Crump M.M. May A.V. Ellis J.T. Woods
D.J. Richbourg and M.M. Tillman who were duly empanelled
and sworn to diligently inquire of damages in this cause
and a true assessment make according to the evidence
And the jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence
and charge of the Court without leaving the box
rendered the following Verdict to wit:
We the Jury find for the plaintiff and assess
her damages at Nine hundred and Ninety six 70/100 Dollars
So say we all M.M. Tillman
this May 9, 1899 Foreman
Whereupon it is considered ordered and adjudged
by the Court that the plaintiff Margaret McDonald Robertson
as Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Colin H. Robertson
do have and recover of and from the said defendant
C.B. Easterlin the sum of Nine hundred and Ninety six 70/100
Dollars for her damages together with her costs in this
behalf expended taxed at Twenty six 53/100 Dollars. And the
defendant in mercy &c
Whereupon Court adjourned until tomorrow
morning at ten 30 oclock
