Spring Term AD 1899
Wednesday May 17th
Court met pursuant to adjournment of Friday last
his honor W.A. Hocker Judge presiding
And now comes L.W. Fennell Sheriff of Alachua
County and returns the Venire for the Petit Jury for this
the second week of the present Term of this Court as having
been executed by summoning the following named
persons to wit: A.B Chitty S.M. Riles R.W. Hall W.D. Holden
J.A. McKinstry B.F. Rucker R.E. Barnes E.Y. Spencer A.B. Zetrouer
I. Mizell C.C. Cox and S.J. Sykes in person
Whereupon for good & sufficient cause shown the
Court excused A.B. Chitty and R.E. Barnes from further
attendance upon the Court
Thereupon the Court made the following order
It appearing to the Court that there is a deficiency
of two jurors to complete the panel of the petit jury
for this the second week of this Term of the Court it is
ordered that the Clerk of this Court do issue a Venire
directed to the Sheriff of Alachua County commanding
him to summon from the bystanders or from the
body of the county at large two persons qualified to
serve as jurors to complete the panel of the Petit Jury
for this the second week of the Spring Term of our
Circuit Court AD 1899 Said Venire returnable tomorrow morning at 9 O'clock
Done and ordered in open Court this 17th day of
May 1899 W.A. Hocker Judge
Whereupon the Clerk issued the following

To L.W. Fennell Sheriff of Alachua County
Greeting:
You are hereby commanded to summon
from the bystanders or from the body of the county at
large, two persons qualified to serve as jurors each for
himself to be and personally appear before the judge of our
Circuit Court at the Court House in the City of Gainesville
instanter to complete the panel of the Petit Jury for the
second week of this the Spring Term of our said Circuit
Court AD 1899, said Venire returnable tomorrow morning at 9 oclock
Witness the Hon W.A. Hocker Judge of the 5th
Judicial Circuit of Florida and the seal of said Court
this 17th day of May 1899
