Elias Griffin }
And now this cause came on to be
further heard Syd L. Carter State Attorney prosecuting
in the name and by the authority of the State of Florida
and the prisoner Elias Griffin being in open Court in his
proper person as well as by his attorney J.A. Williams Esquire
as also the Jury who had heard a part of the evidence in
this cause on yesterday to wit: L.A. Dunnaway J.H. Harris
Z.M. Sanders, J.H. Avera Jr. David Roe J.F. Brush W.E. Brown
H.R. Stokes, S.D. Tillman, Geo M. Desha A.A. McRae and J.U. Stephens
being likewise in open Court the hearing of this cause was
resumed and the Jury aforesaid after hearing the balance
of the evidence the argument of counsel and the charge of the
Court retired to consider of their verdict: And failing to
return into Court with a verdict at ten oclock
P.M.
Thereupon Court adjourned until tomorrow
morning at Nine oclock

Court met this day pursuant to adjournment
of yesterday his Honor W.A. Hocker Judge presiding

Now this cause coming on to be
further heard Syd L. Carter State Attorney prosecuting
in the name and by authority of the State of Florida and
the prisoner Elias Griffin being in open Court in his proper
person as well as by his attorney J.A. Williams Esquire
And the Jury who had heard the evidence in this
cause and retired to consider of their verdict on yesterday to wit
D.A Dunnaway J.W. Harris Z.M. Sanders J.H. Avera Jr
David Roe J.F. Brush W.E. Brown H.R. Stokes S.D. Tillman
Geo M. Desha A.A. McRae and J.U. Stephens, returned into
open Court and rendered the following verdict to wit:
Verdict We the Jury find the defendant Elias Griffin
guilty of murder in the first degree and recommend the
prisoner to the mercy of the Court so say we all
