Wednesday February 14th
J.L. Crawford A.A. McRae T.J. Griffin B.T. Hampton G.W. Sanderson J.C. Peach
who were duly empanelled and sworn to well and truly try and true deliverance
make between the State of Florida and the prisoner at the bar whom
you shall have in charge according to the evidence
And the Jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence the argument
of counsel and charge of the Court retired to consider of their verdict
And after due consideration thereof they returned into open Court
and rendered the following verdict to wit:
Verdict We the Jury find the defendant guilty as charged in the indictment
and recommend him to the mercy of the Court

Whereupon for good and sufficient cause shown Robert McClellan
J.H. Vidal and Charles Scarratt three of the Special jurors summoned to
complete the panel in the case of the State of Florida V Willis Brice
were excused
Whereupon Court adjourned until tomorrow morning
at nine o'clock

Vs } Indicted for Murder
Willis Brice }
On this 15th Feby 1900 the pleas in abatement filed
by defendant came on to be heard and were argued and submitted.
The first pleas were filed before arraignment on 14th Feby 1900 which
was not discovered until order of the Court had been made on the
demurrer to those pleas. After arraignment on yesterday the
defendant was permitted to plead in abatement again and filed
the first pleas and additional ones, all of which are before me
now on demurrer of state attorney. Upon consideration of the said
pleas and the demurrer to them, his ordered that the demurrer
to each and all of said pleas, be and the same is hereby sustained
to which ruling the defendant excepts. The Defendant is required to
plead over.
