Thursday February 15th
to complete the panel for the trial of this cause
Whereupon the Clerk issued the Venire as by the Court
directed, and placed it in the hands of the sheriff and where in
the same was made
Thereupon came W.O. Tison, who was listed found qualified and
accepted.
And now the panel of the jury being complete there came as
jurors for the trial of this cause Marcus Endel T.R. Ellis W.J.
McCormick J.C. Havis, J.T. Barron J.R. Pardue I.G. Huffman Benjamin Rush
A.J. DaCosta E.K. Fagan Horace Giddings and W.O. Tison who were duly
empanelled and sworn to well and truly try and true deliverance
make between the State of Florida and the prisoner at the bar whom
you shall have in charge according to the evidence
And the jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence the
argument of counsel and charge of the Court retired to consider
of their verdict and after due consideration thereof they returned
into open Court and rendered the following verdict to wit:
Verdict We the Jury find Willis Brice otherwise called Wm Brice the
dft guilty of Murder in the first degree and recommend him
to the mercy of the Court A.J. DaCosta

Whereupon at the request of B.A. Thrasher defendants
attorney the Jury was polled and the verdict read to each one of
them who answered that it was their verdict.

Feby 16th AD 1900 and there being but eight^jurors of the regular
panel and the Court being of the opinion that a special
venire will be necessary to complete the panel for the
trial of the said cause the Clerk is directed to issue a
venire to the sheriff commanding him to summon from
the body of the County at large twenty qualified persons
returnable at 9 oclock A.M. tomorrow morning from whom
to complete the panel of petit jurors for the trial of said
cause

Thereupon the Clerk issued the Venire as by order
of the Court directed
Whereupon Court adjourned until nine oclock tomorrow
