                                 Spring Term AD 1900
                                  Tuesday May 15
           State of Florida }
                  Vs        } Breaking & Entering with intent to commit a
           Ed Brooklen      } Misdemeanor
                        And now this cause coming on to be heard Syd L. Carter
           State attorney prosecuting in the name & by authority of the State of
           Florida and the prisoner appearing in open Court in his
           proper person was arraigned and upon his arraignment
           pleaded guilty.
                     Whereupon Court adjourned until Nine Oclock
           tomorrow morning
                           Wednesday May 16th
             Court met this day pursuant to adjournment of yesterday
           his honor W.A. Hocker Judge presiding
                  And now comes L.W. Fennell Sheriff of Alachua County
           and returns the venire issued out of this Court on yesterday
           for twelve special jurors from which to complete the panel of
           the Jury in the case of the State of Florida Vs James Williams as
           having been executed by summoning in person the following
           named persons T.H. Bevill S.G. Gay G.L. Taylor H.L. Bevill A.J. DaCosta
           M.S. Lanier J.W. Shettleworth S.F. Brooks T.J. Knight L.E. Means
           D.J. Richbourg and J.A. Abrams
                   Whereupon for good and sufficient cause shown
           G.L. Taylor, S.G. Gay and J.W. Shuttleworth were excused from further attendance
           upon the Court.

                  Vs        } Murder
           Willie Brice     }
                         Now comes the defendant by his attorney
           B.A. Thrasher and moves the Court to set aside the verdict rendered
           in this cause on the 15th day of February 1900 and grant a new
           trial And now said motion having been submitted to the court
           and argued by counsel for the respective parties and the court
           being advised of its opinion doth decide and order that the same be and
           is hereby overruled. To which ruling and order of this Court the
           defendant by his attorney then and there accepted

                              And now the prisoner Willis Brice alias William
           Brice being in open Court for sentence was demanded if he had
           anything to say why the sentence of the law should not be
           passed upon him saith nothing Whereupon the court sentenced
