And now this cause came on to be heard Syd L.
Carter State Attorney prosecuting in the name & by authority of
the State of Florida and the prisoner James Williams being in open Court in
his proper person as well as by his attorney R.H. Thrasher esquire was
arraigned and upon his arraignment saith that he is Not guilty of the charge
alleged in the indictment against him and for good and evil puts
himself upon God and the county for trial.
Whereupon a jury was called and there came W.P. Davis
W.M. Bradford, J.A. McDonald J.S. Goode T.H. Bevill H.L. Bevill S.F. Brooks
L.E. Means D.J. Richbourg. And now the regular and special panels of the jury being
exhausted by reason of challenge and othrwise the Court ordered
the Sheriff to Summon three persons from the bystanders or body of the County
to complete the panel of the jury and then came J.N. Manning
J.C. Balis and O. Gamage who were accepted
And now the panel of the jury being complete there came as jurors
for the Inst of this cause W.P. Davis, W.M. Bradford J.A. McDonald
J.S. Goode T.H. Bevill, H.L. Bevill, S.F. Brooks L.E. Means D.J. Richbourg
J.N. Manning J.C. Balis and O. Gamage who were duly sworn to well and
truly try and then deliver a verdict between the State of Florida
and the prisoner at the bar whom you shall have in charge
according to the evidence. And the jury aforesaid after
hearing a part of the evidence the further hearing of this cause
is postponed until tomorrow morning at 9 oclock
Whereupon Court adjourned until tomorrow morning at
9 oclock

Court met this day pursuant to adjournment of yesterday his
