                   Spring Term AD 1900
                   Thursday May 17th
likewise in open Court the hearing of this cause was
resumed And the Jury aforesaid after hearing the balance
of the evidence the argument of counsel and charge of the
Court retired to consider of their verdict And after due Con=
sideration thereof they returned into open Court and rendered the
following Verdict to wit:
              We the Jury find James Williams the
defendant guilty of Murder in the third degree
So say we all             W.M. Bradford
This May 17 1900                   Foreman
           Whereupon the Court ordered the Clerk
to pay the Special Jurors summoned to complete the panel
of the jury in the case of the State of Florida Vs James Williams and
not accepted two dollars each and mileage

       Vs         } Murder
G. Towney Kennard }
                    Now this cause coming on to be heard
Syd L. Carter State Attorney prosecuting in the name and
by authority of the State of Florida and the prisoner
G. Towney Kennard appearing in open Court in his proper
person was arraigned and upon his arraignment pleaded
not guilty

State of Florida }
       Vs        } Murder
Rufus Williams   }
               Now this cause is Nol prossed at request of
State Attorney

State of Florida }
      Vs         } Assault with intent to murder
John Howard      }
                  Now this cause coming on to be heard
Syd L. Carter State Attorney prosecuting in the name and by
authority of the State of Florida and the prisoner being in
open Court in his proper person was arraigned and upon
his arraignment saith that he is not guilty and for good
and Evil puts himself upon God and the Country for trial
  Whereupon a jury was called and there came, H.B. Brooker
A.L. Jackson H.P. Davis W.M. Bradford Walter Parker and
J.A. Ward who were duly empanelled and sworn to well
and truly try the issue between the State of Florida and the
defendant according to the evidence. And the Jury
