This Indenture made the Fifteenth day of October in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty between James
A. Turner of Alachua County in the State of Florida and Zilpha
Turner his wife, parties of the first part and Horace Merry of
the county and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth
that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration
of the sum of
lawful money of the United States of America to us in hand
paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bar-
gained, sold, aleined, remised, released, conveyed, and confirmed
and by these presents do grant, bargin, sell, alien, remise, release
convey, and confirm unto the said party of the second part
and to his heirs and assigns forever All that certain tract
or parcel of land(except the portion to be hereafter described
known as the west half of section Number Twenty five(25) in
Township Number Eleven South and Range Twenty East(11&20)
situated in Alachua County in the State of Florida, and described
as above stated in a certain Map of the Arredondo Grant, made
by David H. Burr and Henry Washington under the direction of
the Commissioners appointed by the Supreme Court of the District of
East Florida at the June Term of the year Eighteen hundred and
forty five, containing according to said survey, Three hundred and
twenty five acres and thirty hundredths of an acre of Land more or less
The said land herein conveyed being all that certain tract or parcel
of land (except the portion to be herein after described) conveyed
by Charles W. Johnson & wife to James A. Turner by deed bearing
date the twelfth day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen
hundred and fifty
The portion of land excepted as aforesaid and
not conveyed by these presents, is all that certain parcel of land
containing ninety two acres, bounded as follows, that is to say,
beginning at the section post, at the middle of the west boundry
of Section Number Twenty five aforesaid, thence East Twenty
three chains to a lightwood post, thence South forty chains to a
lightwood post on the South Boundry of the said section, thence
West along said south Boundry Twenty three chains to the south
West corner of the said Section thence North along the aforesaid
West boundry forty chains to the place of beginning.
The parcel of land these presents convey
=ed by the aforesaid James A. Turner & wife to Horace Merry aforesaid
is all that tract or parcel of land containing Two hundred and |
