Know all men by these presents
that I George Atkinson of Darien and County and
State aforesaid in consideration of the Sum of Three
Thousand Dollars to me paid by George I.F. Clark
of East Florida the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have remised, released, and forever
quit claimed, and by these presents do remise
release and forever quit claim, unto the Said
George I.F. Clark his heirs and assigns all the
right and title which I the Said George
Atkinson have or ought to have to the following
Land Situated in Florida, Viz Ten Thousand Acres
of Land being and laying in that part of the
Territory of Florida Known as the province of East
Florida and designated as follows, Six Thousand
Acres thereof Situated on Darveys Creek on the
South Side of the Sainta Fee River near the Natural
Bridge of Said River and Four thousand Acres
Situated on the North Side of Dunns Creek, the
Communication between Dunns Lake and St. Johns
River: as will more fully appear by the plots
and certificates of Survey of Said Lands by the
Surveyor General of Said province, and hereunto
annexed; the Said Ten Thousand Acres
being a part of a Fifteen Thousand Acre
Grant made to the Said Atkinson by the
Spanish Government on the Twentieth of
October Eighteen hundred and Sixteen as an
indemnification for Services, disbursments
&c To Have and to hold the aforesaid
premises with all the priviledges, and appurtenances
belonging or appertaining thereto, unto
the Said Clark his heirs and assigns, to
his and their use forever; So that neither
the Said George Atkinson nor my heirs, nor
any person or persons claiming under me or
them Shall at any time hereafter by any |
