Alachua County } Know all men by these presents that we George F.
K. Beattie and Annie E. Beattie his wife of the aforesaid County and State for
and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and twenty five dollars to us
cash in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained
sold and conveyed: and by these presents do grant, bargain sell and convey
unto the Right Reverend Augustine Verot, Bishop of St. Augustine Florida
and his successors in office in trust for the Roman Catholic Congregation of
Gainesville Florida for the erection and maintenance of a Roman Catholic
Church Edifice all that certain lot piece or parcel of land lying being and
situated in the town of Gainesville in the County of Alachua in the State
of Florida commencing at a stake Twenty (20) feet distant from the South
East corner of the lot in said town of Gainesville Fla now particularly known
as the "Verdier Lot" thence South Two hundred feet thence West Two hun-
thence East Two hundred feet
dred feet thence North Two hundred feet^to the place of beginning
together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and ap
purtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. - -
To Have and to hold the same unto him the said Right Reverend Augus
tin Verot Bishop of St Augustine Florida and his successors in office
in trust as aforesaid for the Roman Catholic Congregation of Gaines
ville Florida and to his and their assigns in fee simple forever
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed
our seals on this 17th day of May AD 1876

State of Florida } Before me personally appeared Mrs. Annie E. Beattie, wife
Alachua County } of George F.K. Beattie who being first duly questioned and
examined by me separate and apart from her said husband says
and acknowledges before me that she signed the foregoing deed of
conveyance for the purposes of releasing and relinquishing all her
right of dower in the lands in said deed particularly described
and that said relinquishment and renunciation of dower was
made and executed by her freely and voluntarily and without
any compulsion, constraint apprehension or fear of or from her
said husband.

State of Florida } Before me personally came R.F. Taylor who being first
Alachua County } duly sworn says that he saw George F.K. Beattie and
Mrs Annie E. Beattie his wife sign seal and deliver the foregoing
Deed of conveyance for the uses and purposes as therein contained
and expressed and that he together I.H. Saunders signed the
same as subscribing witnesses thereto.
