This indenture made and entered into this the first day of October
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty three
between B. McHan and Mary A.E. McHan his wife of the County
of Alachua and State of Florida of the first part and Wm T. Cheeves
of the same place of the second part: Witnesseth that the said par-
ties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of
Seven hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid by
the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is here-
by acknowledged have given bargained sold and conveyed
and by these presents do give bargain sell and convey & confirm
unto the said Wm T. Cheeves his heirs and assigns forever a
certain parcel or tract of land the numbers nine and fourteen
of section four, Township nine South of Range twenty two East
containing seventy eight acres more or less, together with all
the improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging.
To have and to hold the afore granted premises unto the said Wm
T. Cheeves his heirs and assigns forever. And the said parties of
the first part for themselves their heirs executors & administra-
tors the afore granted premises unto the said W.T. Cheeves his heirs
and assigns and against the lawful claims of all persons will
forever warrant and defend by these presents.
     In witness whereof we the said parties of the first part have
hereunto set our hands and seals this the day and year above
written.

Kennard a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally
came Elias Earle and made oath that he was a subscribing wit-
ness to the within Deed of conveyances: that the same was executed
in his presence and in the presence of another subscribing witness &
that the said Barnabas McHan and Mary E. McHan his wife ack
nowledged the execution thereof to be their free act and deed and
for the uses and purposes therein mentioned
