Alachua County   } This Indenture made and entered into on this the 1st day of
July AD 1876 between Louis A. Barnes Sheriff of said County party of the first part
and T.J. May party of the second part. Witnesseth that whereas by virtue of a writ
of Fieri Facias issued out of the Justice Court in and for said County and
to him the said Sheriff directed he was commanded that of the goods chattels
lands and tenements of S.B. McLin he cause to be made the sum of forty
eight dollars with interest thereon together with costs of suit which T.J. May,
lately on the 1st day of August AD 1867 recovered in our said Court against
the said S.B. McLin and whereas I Louis A. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid
by virtue of said writ did on the 3rd day of February AD 1874 levy upon and
seize the property hereinafter described and did by virtue of said writ and
pursuant to the statutes in such cases made and provided duly advertise the
said property for sale on the 2nd day of Mch AD 1874 and did on that
day sell the same at auction according to law to T.J. May for the sum of
ten dollars that being the highest sum bid for the same. Now therefore know ye
that I the said Louis A. Barnes as sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of the said
writ of Fieri Facias and the levy and sale thereunder made and provided and
for and in consideration of said sum of ten dollars to me in hand paid
by the said T.J. May party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do
grant bargain and sell unto the said T.J. May party of the second part
and to his heirs and assigns forever all the following described property
to wit: NE1/4 & SE1/4 of Section 9 Township (seven) 7 R Eighteen SE
known as the B.R. Derr's place: Together with all the rights title
interests and equities which the said S.B. McLin had of, in or to the
same. To have and to hold the same as fully as I the said Louis A. Barnes
as sheriff as aforesaid might could or ought to sell and convey the
same. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this
the 1st day of July AD 1876
