to me well known, and acknowledged that she executed the foregoing deed, for
the purpose therein expressed; whereupon it is prayed that the same may be

Alachua County } Whereas the Honorable Thomas F. Long, Judge of the
Suwannee Circuit sitting in Chancery in and for the County of Alachua
did on the 9th day of May AD 1868 make an order appointing John D. Young
of the State and County aforesaid, as commissioner for Benjamin F. Young with full
power and authority to sell and convey any and all real estate of the said
Benj F. Young lying and being in the State and County aforesaid. And whereas the
said John D. Young as Commissioner aforesaid was and is by the said order of the
Court of Chancery fully authorized and empowered to make good and sufficient title
deeds to any and all of said real estate of the said Benj F. Young that might be
sold and conveyed by him the said John D. Young under and by virtue of
the said order of the Court of Chancery which said order is recorded in the
Chancery Order Book of said County on page 231 of said Book.-
Now therefore Know all men by these presents, That I John D. Young of the
State of Florida and County of Alachua, Commissioner of Benj F. Young, under and
by virtue of the power and authority, vested in me by the above mentioned order of
the Court of Chancery and for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred
and Fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Thomas L. Carter of the State and County
aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained
sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto
the said Thomas L. Carter all that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying
and being situate in the town of Gainesville and in the State and County aforesaid
known and designated on the map of the said town of Gainesville as Block
seven (7) range eight (8) in the original survey of said town. Which said lot
was conveyed by George W. Boston Judge of Probate of Alachua County to Benj
W. Powell by deed dated the 12th day of June AD 1856 and recorded in Deed
Book "D" page 343 of the records of Alachua County:- And was afterwards
conveyed by Benj W. Powell to Benj F. Young by deed, date the 6th day
of May AD 1857 and recorded in Deed Book "C" of the public records of said
County.- To have and to hold unto the said Thomas L. Carter his heirs executors
administrators, and assigns forever in fee simple. - And I, the said John
D. Young as Commissioner aforesaid, do hereby warrant and will forever defend
unto the said Thomas L. Carter, his heirs executors, administrators and assigns
the title in and to the said lot of land hereby conveyed.
In testimony whereof I, the said John D. Young as Commissioner aforesaid
have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of November AD 1876 |
