County of Alachua } To all whom it may concern, Be it Known that
on this 15th day of January AD 1877 Personally appeared
before me a Judicial officer of the State of Florida the above
named M.M. Simmons to me well known as the wife of C.
A. Simmons and as one of the persons described in and who
executed the foregoing deed of conveyance who being at the
time separate and apart from her husband the said C.
A. Simmons did then and there make and execute the
foregoing acknowledgement her name being with her
own hand subscribed and her seal affixed in my presence
    Witness my hand and seal at Waldo the day and year above written.

County of Alachua } On this day personally appeared before me
C.A. Simmons to me well known as the person described in and
who executed the foregoing deed of conveyance and acknowl-
edged that he executed the same for the purposes therein
expressed whereupon it is prayed that the same may be
recorded. In witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my
hand and seal this 15th day of January 1877

                                     This Indenture
made this twentieth day of January AD eighteen hund-
red and seventy seven between Solomon F. Halliday of
Gainesville Florida and Benjamin Jones of Alachua County
Florida party of the second part. Witnesseth that the said
party of the first part in consideration of the sum of three
hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the United States
hath bargained sold and conveyed unto the said party of the
second part the following described premises situate in County
of Alachua and described as follows being the south east
quarter of the Sec No Two of Township No (11) Eleven of Range
No (22) Twenty Two south and east containing 160 acres
more or less being the same premises conveyed to said
party of the first part by John E. Hicks Town collector of
Alachua County 31st day of May 1869 & recorded in Tax book
"A" page 7, 24th July 1869  To have and to hold the said lands
with the appurtenances to the said party of the second part his
heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first
part warrants and defends the same against all persons
claiming or to claim by through or under mine the said
party of the first part.
