This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy six by and between the Peninsular Rail-
road Company, a corporation duly incorporated and organized under and by virtue
of a law of the State of Florida party of the first part: and George T.M. Davis of the
City, County and State of New York Trustee and party of the second part: Witnesseth
That whereas the said party of the deems it necessary for completing, finishing, fur-
nishing with rolling stock and operating its Railroad to borrow money upon its

Bonds to be secured by a mortgage^Deed of Trust upon its franchise Rail Road and
other property appertaining thereto or thereunto belonging as allowed by law, and
therefore designs and intends to borrow the same and for such purpose to issue Three
Hundred Bonds in the sum of One thousand dollars each, and to be numbered con-
secutively from one to three hundred, both inclusive payable at the Irving Bank
in the city of New York on the Twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord
one thousand nine hundred and six together with interest at the rate of seven per
cent per annum payable semi-annually on the first days of July and January in
each year according to the interest warrants attached to said Bonds, And which said
Bonds are to be countersigned and registered by the Trustee herein his successor or suc-
cessors and the entry of such countersigning and registry as well as such Bonds
interest warrants or coupons shall be in the form following, namely

Seven per cent First Mortgage Bonds
Know all men by these presents that the Peninsular Rail Road Com-
pany, a corporation duly incorporated and organized under a law of the State of
Florida for the construction of a Rail Road between Waldo and Ocala in said State
of Florida a distance of Forty Four miles or thereabouts: acknowledges itself indebt
ed in the same of One Thousand dollars lawful money of the United States
of America which sum of money the said Peninsular Rail Road Company
promises to pay to George T.M. Davis Trustee or to the bearer hereof, at the Irving
Bank in the City of New York on the Twenty Fourth day of May Annon Domi-
ni: One Thousand Nine Hundred and six with the interest thereon at the rate
of Seven per cent per annum. Which interest shall be payable at the Irving
Bank half yearly upon presentation and delivery of the warrants or coupons sev-
erally hereto annexed on the first days of January and July in each and ev-
ery year until the payment of said principal. And the faith of said company
is hereby pledged for the payment of said principal and interest.
This Bond is one of an issue authorized by the Stockholders of said company
of Seven Thousand Dollars per mile on its line of Road, making in all Three Hun-
dred Bonds of one thousand dollars each numbered from one to three hundred
both inclusive, to provide the means for the issuing and equipment of the roads
of the said company and is to be valid only when countersigned and registered
by the said Trustee his successor or successors: and is secured by a first mort-
gage duly executed and delivered of all the estate rights and franchises of the
said company now or hereafter to be acquired with the reservations only made
in said mortgage. Any holders of this Bond may have it registered
in his name on the books of the Company by presenting it for
that purpose and having it marked by the Company as so regsitered
and thenceforth it shall be transferable only by written transfer on said
books signed by the registered owner or his authorized attorney, and any |
