State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that 
Mary E. Furman and Chas D. Furman of the aforesaid 
County and State for and in Consideration of the Sum 
of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid by 
Cornelia M. Balis of the County of Alachua in the 
State of Florida the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowl-
edge have granted bargained sold and Conveyed and 
by these presents do grant bargain Sell and Convey 
unto her the said Cornelia M. Balis all of that Certain 
lot piece tract or parcel of land Situated lying and 
being in the County of Alachua in the State of Florida 
particularly known and described as follows to wit: 
Beginning at a point Sixty Six (66) feet due East from
the North Side and East End of Exchange Street run-
ning thence due East to the limits of Transit Rail Road
thence along said line of Rail Road limit in a South
Westerly direction to third Street thence due North along
East side of third Street to place of beginning all of
the above described property being in the Village
of Fairbanks and described on a plat of the Same
now in possession of Chas D. Furman Containing
by estimation one fourth acre of land more or less
Together with all and Singular the tenements hereditam-
ents and appurtenances to the Same belonging or 
in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the 
Same unto her the said Cornelia M. Balis and to her 
heirs executors administrators and assigns in fee 
Simple and absolute. And we the said Mary E. Fur-
man and Charles D. Furman do hereby Covenant 
and agree to and with the Said Cornelia M. Balis 
that we are lawfully Seized in fee of the property 
herein and hereby Conveyed; And that we have good 
and lawful right to sell and Convey the Same
that the Same is free from all encumbrances
of any Kind whatsoever and that we will and 
our heirs executors and administrators shall and
will forever warrant and defend the Same unto her 
the said Cornelia M. Balis and to her heirs execu-
tors administrators and assigns against the lawful 
claims and demands of any and all persons whom-
Soever now claiming or hereafter to claim the Same
In Witness Whereof we have hereunto Set our hands
and affixed our seals on this day of AD 188.
