James Sikes to C.W. Sikes
                    "Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that we James Sikes and Alafiar
Alachua County   } Sikes of the aforesaid County and State for and in consideration
of the sum of two hundred dollars to use in hand paid by C.W. Sikes of
Alachua County in the State of Florida the receipt whereof we do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents
do grant bargain sell and convey unto him the said C.W. Sikes all of that
certain lot piece tract or parcel of land Situated lying and being in the
county of Alachua in the State of Florid particularly known and described
as follows to wit: the (SW 1/4) South West quarter of the (NW 1/4) North West
quarter of Section (20) Twenty Township (9) Nine Range (14) fourteen South East
containing by estimation (40) forty acres of land more or less Together with all
and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same
belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the same unto him
the said C.W. Sikes and to his heirs executors administrators and assigns in
fee simple absolute and we the said James Sikes and Alafair Sikes do
hereby Covenant and agree to and with the said C.W. Sikes that we are lawfully
seized in fee of the property herein and hereby conveyed and that we have
good and lawful right to sell and convey the same that the same is free from
all encumbrances of any kind whatsoever and that we will and our heirs executors
and administrators shall and will forever warrant and defend the same unto 
him the said C.W. Sikes and to his heirs executors administrators and assigns
against the lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever now
claiming or hereafter to claim the same. In Witness Whereof we have hereunto
set our hands and affixed our seals on this 25th day of Sept AD 1882

Alachua County   } I hereby certify that on this 25th day of Sept AD 1882
before me personally appeared Mrs Alafair Sikes wife of James Sikes
the grantor in the foregoing conveyance who being first duly questioned
and examined by me separate and apart from her said Husband says and
acknowledges before me that she did sign the said deed of conveyance for
the purpose of releasing relinquishing and renouncing all her right of Dower
in and to the land in said deed described and that said relinquishment
and renunciation of Dower was done and made by her freely and voluntarily 
and without any compulsion constraint apprehension or fear of or from her
said husband - In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my
hand & seal
