Sheriff's "Deed"
State of Florida } Whereas by Virtue of a Decree or Judgement lien issued out of
Alachua County } the Circuit Court in and for Alachua County Florida
Wherein William Edwards was complainant and John C. Ley John R.
Zetrouer as administrator of Henry E. Pardee deceased and Caroline B.
Pardee as administratrix and widow of Henry E. Pardee deceased were defendants
I John W. Turner as Sheriff of Alachua County Florida have duly levied upon
the property hereinafter described and under and by virtue of said Decree
have duly advertised the said property for sale on this the 2nd day of
October AD 1880 according to law and whereas on this 2nd day of October
AD 1880 William Edwards became the purchaser thereof for the sum of
Eight Hundred and Forty dollars for the said property hereinafter described
under and by virtue of the said decree at public outcry before the
Court house door in the City of Gainesville in said County and
State that being the highest and best sum bid for the same and
he being the bidder thereof Now therefore Know all men by these presents
that I John W. Turner Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of the
levy advertisement and Sale thereunder made and for and in consideration
of the said sum of Eight hundred and Forty Dollars to me as such Sheriff
paid cash in hand on this day by the said William Edwards the receipt
whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold aliened
transferred and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien
transfer and convey unto him the said William Edwards the following described
property to wit. That certain lot or parcel of land known and described
as lot No Nineteen Township Four Range one of the land sold by Joel
B. Smith to the East Florida Seminary and according to the Survey
of the said lands lying in the town of Micanopy and containing one
acre more or less all in Alachua County Florida together with all and
Singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging
or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the same unto him the said
William Edwards and to his heirs and assigns forever as fully as I the
said Sheriff am lawfully authorized and empowered to do. In Witness Whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on this the 2nd day of
October AD 1882
