Samuel C. Tucker Commissioner to W.F. Rice
"Commissioners Deed"
This Indenture made this the second (2) day of February in the Year of our Lord
One thousand eight hundred and Eighty between Samuel C. Tucker as
Commissioner of the County of Alachua and State of Florida party of the first part
and W.F. Rice of the same place party of the second part Witnesseth That
whereas the Hon J.B. Dawkins Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit of Florida
Sitting in chancery in and for the County of Alachua said State did
by order made and rendered in his said Court on the 25 day of
December AD 1879 appoint and empower the undersigned Commissioner to
sell at Arredondo in said County on the 2nd day of February AD 1880 the
real property hereinafter described belonging to the estate of Moses Ramsey
deceased Now therefore by virtue of said order and the decree of said
Court and due public notice of said sale the said Samuel C. Tucker as
Commissioner as aforesaid party of the first part on the 2nd day of
February AD one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty in pursuance of
said order and decree did sell at Public outcry to W.F. Rice he being
the highest bidder therefor and in consideration of the sum of Ninety
two & 25/100 ($92 25/100) dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged the said Samuel C. Tucker as Commissioner as aforesaid has
bargained sold and granted and by these presents doth sell grant and
convey unto the said W.F. Rice his heirs and assigns all that certain tract
or parcel of land situated in said County and State and described as follows
to wit: Lot No (2) two North of the A.G. & W.I.T. Rail Road - containing (4)
four acres more or less in Section 21 Township 10 Range 19 East
according to map of the Survey by Thomas B. Smithers. Together with all
and singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in anywise appertaining and all the estate right title interest
property possession claim and demand whatsoever as well in Law as in
Equity in and to the above described premises and every part and parcel
thereof as fully by virtue of his said authority as he may convey the same
To Have and to Hold the said premises unto the said W.F. Rice his heirs
and assigns and to their only proper use forever. In Witness Whereof
the said Samuel C. Tucker as Commissioner as aforesaid has hereunto set
his hand and seal this the 2nd day of February AD 1880
