   Thomas C. Ellis to J. E. Dodd
                  "Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that we Thomas C.
Alachua County   } Ellis and Sarah A. Ellis of the aforesaid County and State
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid
by J.E. Dodd of the County of Alachua in the State of Florida the
receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold
and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto
him the said J.E. Dodd all of that certain lot piece tract or parcel of
land situated lying and being in the County of Alachua in the State of
Florida particularly known and described as follows to wit: One hundred
and five feet square including the N.E. corner of lot number
one of Brushes addition to the Town of Gainesville Containing by
estimation 1/4 acre of land more or less. Together with all and singular
the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging
or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the same unto
him the said J.E. Dodd and to his heirs executors administrators and 
assigns in fee simple absolute. And we the said Thomas C. Ellis and
Sarah A. Ellis do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said
J.E. Dodd that we are lawfully seized in fee of the property
herein and hereby conveyed; and that we have good and lawful
right to sell and convey the same; that the same is free from all
encumbrances of any kind whatsoever and that we will and our
heirs executors and administrators shall and will forever warrant
and defend the same unto him the said J.E. Dodd and to his
heirs executors administrators and assigns against the lawful
claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever now
claiming or hereafter to claim the same. In Witness Whereof we
have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals on this 3rd
day of November AD 1882

State of Florida } I hereby certify that on this 3rd day of November
Alachua County   } AD 1882 before me personally appeared Mrs Sarah
A. Ellis wife of Thomas C. Ellis the grantor in the foregoing convey-
ance who being first duly questioned and examined by me separate
and apart from her said husband says and acknowledges before me
that she did sign the said deed of conveyance for the purpose of
releasing relinquishing and renouncing all of her right of Dower in and
