wife of Alpha B. Snavelly the grantor in the foregoing conveyance
who being first duly questioned and examined by me separate
and apart from her said husband says and acknowledges before me
that she did sign the said deed of conveyance for the purpose of
releasing relinquishing and renouncing all of her right of Dower in and
to the land in said deed described and that said relinquishment and
renunciation of dower was done and made by her freely and voluntarily
and without any compulsion constraint apprehension or fear of or from
her said husband

Ashmead Nichols and Dutton to J. B. Wistar
                 "Deed"
This Indenture made and entered into this First day of April AD
1879 between Lehman P. Ashmead of the City of Philadelphia in the
State of Pennsylvania John G. Nichols of Beaufort South Carolina
and Emilene A. Nichols his wife and Henry F. Dutton of Gainesville
in the County of Alachua and State of Florida and Kate C.
Dutton his wife parties of the first part and J.B. Wistar of
the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania party of
the second part, Witnesseth That the said parties of the first part
for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars to them
in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and
before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold
and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell
and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs
and assigns forever all that certain Lot tract piece or parcel
of land lying and being situate in the State of Florida County
Alachua and Town of Gainesville particularly described on the
map of said Town as Block number Two (2) in Range number
Four (4) and Generally known as the "Arlington House property
Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments
