"Deed"
State of Florida } This Indenture made and entered into on this
Alachua County } Seventeenth day of January A.D. one thousand
Eight hundred and seventy Eight between Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff
of Alachua County Florida Party of the first part and William Edwards
of the aforesaid State and County Party of the Second part Witnesseth
That Whereas I the said Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff as aforesaid under and
by virtue of a Decree of Foreclosure of Mortgage in the Circuit Court of
Alachua County in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida made and
entered on the 24th day of November A.D. 1877 in favor of William Edwards and
against M.B. Harrison and James H. Harrison by virtue of the decree
aforesaid and the order of the sale thereunder made I did levy upon
and seize the property hereinafter described as the property of the said
defendants to satisfy said decree of Foreclosure and did duly and legally
advertise the same for sale on the first Monday in January A.D. 1878 the same
being the 7th day of said month and did pursuant to said levy and
advertisement and under and by virtue of the Statutes on such cases
made and provided sell the property hereinafter described at Public
auction before the Court House door in the Town of Gainesville in
the County and State aforesaid on the said 7th day of January A.D.
1878 between the legal hours of sale on said day and according to law
and whereas at said sale the said William Edwards became the
purchaser of the Property hereinafter described for the Sum of one
Hundred and sixty Dollars that being the highest and best sum
bid for the same and he being the bidder thereof: Now therefore Know
Ye that I the said Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff as aforesaid under
and by virtue of the decree of Foreclosure aforesaid and the order
of sale thereunder made as also the advertisement levy and Sale
as by the Statutes in such cases made and provided and for and
in consideration of the said sum of one Hundred and Sixty Dollars to
me as said Sheriff in hand duly paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged I have granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these
presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Wiliam
Edwards and to his heirs and assigns forever all of the interest and
right of the aforesaid defendants M.B. Harrison and James H. Harrison
(being each one-Eighth undivided interest) in those certain
Lots or tracts of Land Lying and being in the County of Alachua
and State of Florida and designated known and described as
follows to wit: Lot No one (1) and Lot No (7) Seven in what is
designated as the "Moses E. Levy Grant" (as by reference to the map
of Arredondo Grant as made by Burr and Washington will fully
appear) containing Three Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty Three
and one Third (3333 1/3) acres Together with all and singular the
tenements hereditaments and appurtenances belonging or in anywise
appertaining - To Have and to Hold unto him the said William
Edwards and to his heirs and assigns forever as fully and
