and encourage a liberal system of Internal improvem
ents in this State approved January 6th 1855 for and in
consideration of the sum of one dollar and fifty cents
per Acre to them in hand paid by Elizabeth A. Thigpin
of the County of Alachua State of Florida have granted
bargained and Sold and do by these presents grant bargain
sell and convey unto the said Elizabeth A. Thigpin and her
heirs and assigns forever the following described Lands
to wit: The North West quarter of the North East quarter
of Section thirty four in Township Eight South of Range
Twenty one East containing forty three Acres and lying
and being in the County of Alachua in said State of Florida
To have and to hold unto the said Elizabeth A. Thigpin and her
heirs and assigns forever in fee simple.
                 In testimony Whereof said Trustees have hereto

    (  )         the seal of the Florida State Land office
                 to be made hereupon at the Capitol in the

             Lawrason Riggs Excr To Fla Land & Imig Co.
                               "Deed"
This Conveyance made this twelfth day of April A.D. one thous
and Eight hundred and Eighty three by Lawrason Riggs
Sole surviving Executor of the last will and Testament
of George W. Riggs late of the City of Washington in the
District of Columbia deceased, and as such duly qualified
and appointed under and by virtue of an order passed by
the supreme Court of the said District holding a Probate
Court therefor on this 20th day of September A.D. 1881, of
the first part to the Florida Land and Immigration Comp
any of the State of Florida of the second part whereas
the hereinafter conveyed property was vested in the said
George W. Riggs deceased at the time of his death nomin
ally in fee but really as security for the repayment of a
certain indebtedness due from one D.L. Yulee to the
firm of Riggs & Co Bankers at the City of Washington
in said District whereof the said George W. Riggs was
