James W. Spencer to L.L. Hill
"Deed"
This indenture made and entered into this 24th day of
April A.D. one thousand Eight hundred and Eighty
three between James W. Spencer (son) one of the heirs at
law of Nathan Spencer deceased of Randolph
County in the State of North Carolina of the
first part and L.L. Hill of Alachua County in the
State of Florida of the second part Witnesseth that
the said James W. Spencer party of the first part
for and in consideration of the sum Eight Hun
dred ($800.00) dollars to him in hand paid the
receipt sold released and quit claimed and by
these presents does grant bargain sell release and
Quit Claim unto the said L.L. Hill party of the second
part all the right title interest claim and de
mand which the said party of the first part has
whether at law on in equity of in and to the
following described lots tracts pieces or parcels of land
lying and being situate in the State of Florida
in the County of Alachua particularly designa
ted as follows to wit: One lot lying in the
Town of Gainesville described as follows: Beginning
at a point in the middle of the run of "Sweet
Water Branch" said point being the North East cor
ner of the lot now owned and occupied by Dr. J.F.
McKinstry and running thence West along the northern
boundary line of Dr. McKinstry's lot to the section
line dividing Section Four (4) and Five (5) in
township ten (10) South Range twenty (20) East thence
North along said section line three hundred and
Fifty (350) feet thence East to the middle of the run
of sweet Water Branch thence in a southerly direction
along the middle of the run of said "Branch"
to the point of beginning containing Four (4) Acres
more or less said lot being the same which was con
veyed to Nathan Spencer by deed of C.D.H. Snead
dated June 26th 1874 and recorded in Deed Book "I"
at pages (203) public records of Alachua County
Florida Also another lot lying in said town of Gain
esville described as follows Beginning at the point where
the township line dividing township nine and ten
(9 & 10) South Range twenty (20) East crosses the
middle of the run of Sweet "Water Branch" and run
ning thence East along said township line (and
in a ditch cut by James Beattie Nine hundred and
twenty four (924 feet thence south Four hundred and
