Whereas the Legislature of the State of Florida by
an act approved March fourth Eighteen hundred
and Seventy nine entitled "An act to grant
Certain lands to the Gainesville Ocala and Charlotte
Harbor Rail Road Company" in consideration of
the greatly improved value which would accrue
to the State from the construction of the road
of the said Company its branches and extens
ions in the fifth section thereof did grant to
the said Gainesville Ocala and Charlotte Harbor
Rail Road Company ten thousand acres for each
mile of Road it might construct of the lands granted
to the State by the act of Congress of September twenty
eighth Eighteen hundred and fifty said lands to be of
those which might be nearest the line of said road
its branches and extensions and whereas it was provided
in said fifth Section of said act that the grant of
lands made by said section was made subject to the
rights of all creditors of the Internal Improvement
Fund and to the lands to which said fund was ap
plicable and subject under the act entitled "An act
to provide for and encourage a liberal system
