United States of September twenty eighth Eigh
teen hundred and fifty Commonly Known as the
Swamp land act to which the said Florida southern
Railway Company may be entitled under the provis
ions of section five (5) of Chapter 3167 of the
laws of Florida entitled "an act to grant
certain lands to the Gainesville Ocala and Charlotte
Harbor Rail Road Company" approved March
fourth Eighteen hundred and seventy nine the
name of Florida Southern Railway Company hav
ing been adopted in lieu of that of Gainesville
Ocala and Charlott Harbor Rail Road Company
and whereas it is recited in the said order of Jan
uary sixth Eighteen hundred and eighty three that
it was made on the understanding that the
said Florida Southern Railway Company shall
resume at once the Construction of its Rail Road
between Gainesville and Lake City and complete
the same as rapidly as practicable and that all
lands granted by said act to said Company shall
be applied as contemplated by said act "and where
as the said Florida Southern Railway Company
has resumed and is now engaged in the construction
of its road between Gainesville and Lake City in
accordance with the said order of the Court of the
Sixth of January Eighteen hundred and eighty
three and whereas the Indebtedness of the Internal
Improvement Fund has been so far paid off and
reduced as to Justify the said trustees in their
opinion in Conveying to the said Florida Southern
Railway Company the lands to which it has become
entitled under the provisions of the said fifth
section of the act approved March fourth Eigh
teen hundred and seventy nine and whereas the
said Florida Southern Railway Company has
selected the tracts or parcels of land hereinafter de
scribed and embraced in the said grant of ten tho
usand acres per mile and which were granted to the
State of Florida by the act of Congress of September
twenty eighth Eighteen hundred and fifty, and which
lie nearest the line of the Florida Southern Railway
as aforesaid according to the plat of the Survey thereof
filed in the office of the Commissioner of lands and
Immigration of the State of Florida To wit: The
East half of the North East quarter the south west
quarter of the North East quarter the North East
quarter of the South East quarter and the North
East quarter of the South West quarter of section
