"Deed"
State of Florida }
Alachua County } This Indenture made this nineteenth
day of April A.D. 1883, between Elizabeth J. Smith in her
own right and Russell B. Smith her husband both of
Hawthorn in said State & County and Emma J. Waits
of the County of Alachua State of Florida of the sec
ond part: Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the
sum of Two Hundred Dollars to the parties of the first
part paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained sold and by these presents do
grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party of the
second part her heirs and assigns in fee simple all
of that certain Tract or parcel of land lying and being
in said County of Alachua and described as follows
to wit The South East Quarter (1/4) of the North East
Quarter of section (16) Sixteen township (10) Ten south
Range twenty two (22) East containing forty acres
more or less. To Have and to hold the above described land
to the said party of the second part her heirs and
assigns together with the rights members and appur
tenances thereunto belonging or in any manner
appertaining and the said parties of the first part for them
selves their heirs executors administrators and assigns
the title to the above bargained sold and conveyed prem
ises will forever warrant and defend against all legal
claims and demands. In testimony whereof we have here
unto set our hands and seals the date first written.

County of Alachua} Personally appeared before the
undersigned Elizabeth J. Smith and Russell B. Smith well
Known to me and acknowledged that they executed the fore
going deed for the purpose of conveying the land therein
described to Emma L. Waits and the said Elizabeth J. Smith
upon an examination made by me separate and apart
from her husband acknowledges that she made herself
a party to said conveyance for the purpose of relinquish
ing all her right and title conveying releasing and
making over, in the lands therein mentioned and that
she did so freely and voluntarily and without any fear
constraint or compulsion from her said husband.
