Alachua County	  } We the undersigned do Certify 
                    the following to be a true state
ment of Election returns as rec'd from the 
different precincts in said County Election 
held on the 3rd day of October AD 1859 ---
The whole number of votes for the Office of 
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was Four 
hundred and twenty eight (428) of which 
C.H. Dupont received Two hundred and Seventy 
eight (278), Thomas Baltzell received One 
hundred and Eighteen (118) and B D. Wright 
rec'd Thirty two (32)  For the office of Asso
ciate Justices of the Supreme Court the whole 
number was Nine hundred and twenty seven 
(927) of which William A. Forward rec'd 
Four hundred and forty four (444) David 
S. Walker received Two hundred and Ninety 
two (292) Chandler C. Yonge rec'd Ninety Seven 
(97) D.P. Holland rec'd Seventy five and 
Joseph McCants rec'd Nineteen votes (19) 
For Judge of the Sewanee Circuit the whole 
number of votes was Five hundred & Six 
of which James M. Baker rec'd Three 
hundred and Sixty one votes (361) and 
Felix Livingston received One hundred and 
forty five votes (145)
For the Office of Solicitor for the Sewanee 
Circuit - the whole number of votes was 
Five hundred and Sixty five (565) of 
which S.B. McLin rec'd Three hundred 
& sixteen votes (316) James B. Dawkins 
rec'd One hundred and Fifty one votes (151) 
E.M. Graham rec'd Fifty Nine votes (59) 
& J.O.A. Gerry rec'd Thirty Nine votes (39)
For the Office of Judge of probate for the 
County of Alachua there was Three hundred 
& forty one votes, of which E.H. Jordan rec'd Three 
hundred and forty one (341)
