Alachua County		   }   January 23rd 1860
	At a meeting of the board of County Com
missioners Present J.M. Sparkman, C. Rain 
and E.H. Jordan President of the board
1    Ordered that the report of C. Rain and J.M. 
Sparkman two of the Committee appointed to view  
and recive the bridge built by Henry Fewell over 
the Pararie Creek on the new Cut road from Gainesville 
to the corner of Hawthorns plantation be rec'd which 
said report is that the bridge is not built according 
to Contract and therefore not received
2    Ordered that the Court House be repainted with 
three new coats of Paint and that said Job of 
painting be let to the lowest bidder and that 
said bids be received at the next meeting of the 
board, and also that the plastering of the 
Court House be repaired and put in good order 
and that said Job of plastering be let to the 
lowest bidder
3    Ordered that the accounts of C. Rain and 
J.M. Sparkman for examining the bridge over 
the Pararie Creek on the New Road be paid
	There being no further business the board 
adjourned to meet again on Thursday 26th Inst
