At a meeting of the Board of County Comm
issioners, Present William Strickland, C. Rain
J.M. Sparkman and E.H. Jordan President
of the board
1st Ordered that Geo W. Boston and William Kennedy
be appointed Commissioners on the Road from
Newnansville to Cason's Ford ---
2nd Ordered that a road be opened leading from
Gainesville by Mathews Steam Mill, thence
by Wm Cheeves' and to intersect with the Belemy road
at or near Tho's P. Boulware's and that John
T. Mathews, John Sparkman & Benj'n P. Boulware
be appointed Commissioners to open said road
and that said J.T. Mathews, John Sparkman
& Benj'n P. Boulware be appointed Commissioners
to have said road worked and kept in order
3rd Ordered that J.W. Littles account for teaching
amt Twenty five & 18/100 dollars be paid
4th Ordered that John G. Rawls & P.B.H. Dudley
be appointed Commissioners on the road from
Newnansville to Archer Station on the Rail
Road
5th Ordered that Henry Barnadore, Mitcheal
Kirkland & Solomon Wilks be appointed
Commissioners on the Belemy Road leading from
Newnansville to the Putnam County line
6th Ordered that the Precincts called Half Moon
Pond and Fort Walker be abolished and that
Archer Station on the Rail Road be established
and known as a Precinct in place of those
discontinued
7 Ordered that M.A. Beck be paid one dollar
& 60/100 for carrying Election Returns from
Orange Creek precinct to Gainesville |
