County Commissioners Court} Gainesville
Alachua County } August 27th 1860
At a meeting of the board of County
Commissioners, Present Mathew Hinson J.M.
Sparkman and E.H. Jordan President of the board
1st Ordered that Joseph J. Jones, W.J. Watson and
Isaac F. Bleach be appointed Commissioners to
mark out and open a road from Archer
Station on the Rail Road by J.M. Richardson's
to Watson's Clay Hole on the Newnansville road
and that the same be appointed Commissioners
to have the said road Worked & Kept in
order
2nd Ordered that B.W. Powells account of one
dollar & fifty cents for a blank book for
use Probate Office be paid
3rd Ordered that Wm Barnes account of Four dol
lars for conveying Election Returns from
Wacasasa to Gainesville 7th Oct 1857 be paid
4th Ordered that J Griffin, Henry A. Shearhouse &
Jeptha Knight be appointed Commissioners to
mark out and open a road leading from
Archer Station on the Rail Road to Intersect
with the Newnansville Road at the Town
Ship line dividing Seventeen & Eighteen and
that same be appointed Commissioners to have
said Road worked and kept in order
5th Ordered that W.H. Kennedy Maj. J.F. Blair &
John K. Stevens be appointed Commissioners
to mark out and open a road from Newnansville
to Worthington Springs, by Maj. Blairs and
the same Commissioners to have said Road wor
ked and kept in order ---
There being no further business the board
adjourned to meet again on the second
Monday in September, 10th Inst 1860
