John C. Richard, Jacob Halebrook and James Burnett, be &
they are hereby appointed Commissioners to lay out and open
said road ---
The Court took into Consideration the propriety of laying
off the County into Justices Districts. It is therefore ordered that
the first Justices District to commence at Newnansville upon the
John B. Standley Road and Continue on said road to the Levy
County line from thence on said County line to the Columbia
County line from thence up the Santafee River on said County
line to the mouth of Rocky Creek up said Creek to B.M. Dells
Mill and from thence on the road from said mill to
Newnansville and all those persons North and West of the road
leading from the Belamy road to Fort Clark and also those
Settlements on the West side of the Wacahoota Road as far
South on said road to the head of Hog Town, be and they are
included in the first Justices District of said County
2nd Justices District to Commence from Newnansville along
the Belamy road as far on said road as to the Clarkes road
from thence down said Clarkes road to Fort Harlee from thence
down the Santafee River to the junction of said River and Rocky
Creek at or near Co'l B.M. Dells Mill and from thence on the
road from said mill to Newnansville to connect with the line
of the first District
3rd Justices District
To Commence at the junction of the Sampson River and
the Santafee River running up the Santafee River to the head of said
River to the Belamy Road from thence on said road to the Putnam
County line from thence on said line to the dividing line of Alachua
and Duval Counties from thence on the Duval County Line to the
dividing line of Alachua and Columbia Counties, from thence on
said line to the place of beginning --
4th Justices District
To Commence at Fort Harlee on the Clarkes road to
Bee Tree Branch down Bee Tree Branch to Hatchetts Creek from
thence down Hatchett Creek to Newnans Lake down said lake to
Paines Prairie down said Prairie opposite the River Sticks into Orange
Lake, from thence down Orange Lake to the Putnam County line
from thence on said County of Putnam line to the Belamy Road
thence on the Belamy road to the head of the Santafee River |
